Quantum Science Ltd (QS) has an exciting opportunity for a (Senior) Synthetic Chemist to join our expanding R&D team and take a pivotal role in research and development of colloidal quantum dots and other advanced nanomaterials for optoelectronic applications.

Main tasks and responsibility
You will lead the research and development of infrared colloidal quantum dot technology and related nanomaterials. You will bring your new and innovative ideas to the business, challenge convention, then take responsibility to execute and validate them. You will work closely with the R&D team to advance the company technologies increasing competitiveness.

● Infrared colloidal quantum dots design, research, and development

● Lead, plan, execute, analyse, and draw conclusions from experiments

● Develop synthesis methods for new colloidal quantum dots and nanomaterials or for improving existing ones

● Carry out surface modification of quantum dots and other nanomaterials to make them compatible with the required media and matrix

● Characterize quantum dots and materials using different techniques

● Analyse data and suggest solutions to improve target properties

● Write invention disclosures to protect inventions and strengthen QD IP.

● Communicate and present technical results to internal and external stake holders
Skills and Experience

● PhD in chemistry, material science or equivalent degree with deep knowledge in different classes of colloidal quantum dots and nanomaterials

● Deep knowledge and extensive experience in design, synthesis, and characterisation of colloidal quantum dots

● Extensive experience in surface modification of nanoparticles

● A can-do attitude and good team player

● Excellent verbal and written communication skills

● Good presentation skills

● Well organised and ability to manage, prioritise and address forthcoming issues

● Be creative and innovative to generate ideas and implement
