Technical Sales Engineer/Manager
Salary: £50,000 – £70,000 + commission

Quantum Science (QS) is seeking an experienced Technical Sales Engineer/Manager to join our team. As a key member of the team, you’ll work with the product and sales team, providing technical solutions and sales to large semiconductor OEMs for various infrared imaging and sensing applications. QS is a technology leader in infrared quantum dots and is pushing the leading-edge technologies for emerging markets, such as next-generation smartphones, advanced drive-assistance systems, industrial automation, and medical applications.
Job description
You will promote and provide technical solutions and sales to QS’s partners and help our partners for technical integration, product validation and commercial launch.
The work environment is fast-paced and requires comprehension and resolution of complex technology integration, process and account management. Sufficient experience in relevant sales and project management skills are essential to this role.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

● Offer pre-sales technical assistance and provide product education to clients.

● Accurately calculate client quotations and manage client accounts.

● Organise and conduct product training sessions.

● Persuasively communicate how our products or services best meet client needs in terms of quality, price, and delivery.

● Negotiate tender and contract terms to align with both client and company requirements.

● Provide after-sales support services and technical backup as needed.

● Cultivate and nurture long-term relationships with clients by providing excellent technical support.

● Proactively seek new clients to expand the customer base.

● Analyse costs and sales to inform strategic decision-making.

● Prepare comprehensive reports for head office and maintain detailed customer records.

● Consistently achieve and exceed sales targets, coordinating technical sales projects efficiently.

● Actively participate in marketing activities, including attending trade shows, conferences, and other promotional events.

● Deliver technical presentations and demonstrations to showcase how our products meet client needs.

● Collaborate with the sales team and technical experts to ensure seamless communication.

● Contribute to the design of custom-made products.

● Provide training and generate support materials for other members of the sales team.

Requirements and Qualifications

● Master (PhD preferred) in nanomaterials, Semiconductor Materials, Physics, EE, or related is required. MBA is a plus.

● Track record of 2+ years of technical sales experience in an IP-based deep-tech business.

● Track record of 2+ years of project management experience in technical development or new product validation, or new product launch.

● Good knowledge and well connected with semiconductor and electronics industries.

● A quick learner and a good team player.

● Split the time between the office (Daresbury, UK) and visiting clients, mainly international-based Asia, EU and the US (up to 50% travels are expected).

● Excellent technical project management skills.

● Excellent communication and presentation skills.

● Excellent computer skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).

● English is essential, additional European or Asian language is a plus.
