Quantum Science, the expert in infrared quantum dot (QD) technology, is joining a first-of-its-kind trade mission to connect the UK’s burgeoning tech scene with a major global market.

Dr Hao Pang, CEO and Founder of Quantum Science, joins the government-backed UK Tech Mission to Hong Kong next week (November 13-17) with other UK tech leaders to strengthen trade between the two global innovation hubs.

The headline event will see Dr Pang attend the UK Tech Founders Showcase at the StartmeupHK Festival to promote the benefits of Quantum Science’s industry leading INFIQ® infrared QD technology.

Dr Pang will also take part in a Reverse Pitch event and tour the Hong Kong Science & Technology Park and Cyberport tech hubs to meet potential partners and investors.

The event comes after Quantum Science won the ‘New to Export’ category at the UMi Northern Powerhouse Export Awards in recognition of its success establishing trade with the Asia-Pacific region.

Dr Pang said: “Hong Kong is a city with a well-earned reputation for enterprise and innovation that makes it an exciting ecosystem for tech companies. Combined with the knowledge and expertise of the UK’s technology sector, this trade mission is a fantastic opportunity to strengthen ties between pioneering businesses around the world and share our leading INFIQ® infrared QD technology with a thriving imaging and sensing market.

“Since 2018, Quantum Science has gone from strength to strength and now stands at the forefront of the QD materials field. With INFIQ® infrared QD technology offering unparalleled sensitivity and performance, we are already exporting standout semiconductor materials and hot on the heels of our success at the Northern Powerhouse Export Awards, we are accelerating our commercialisation strategy. Taking part in the UK Tech Mission to Hong Kong will enable us to broaden our reach in the burgeoning Asia-Pacific region, connect with key market players and further promote INFIQ® technology on the international stage.”

The UK Tech Mission to Hong Kong is led by Tech West England Advocates, UK Tech Advocates and Global Tech Advocates, and is run in partnership with the Department for Business and Trade. It aims to foster strong trade opportunities between the two countries and connect tech businesses to foster collaborative innovation.
