Daresbury headquartered technology company, Quantum Science has a team lacing up its running shoes as it prepares for the Manchester 10k in aid of a local animal rescue charity.
The AJ Bell Great Manchester Run takes place in Manchester on Sunday May 26, with participants running 10km through the city centre and Salford Quays.
The team from Quantum Science, the expert in infrared quantum dot technology, is running in support of Warrington Animal Welfare, a charity based less than five miles from the business’s offices and laboratories.
Participants Duan, Stuart, Parth, Bruce, Kishore, Frank, and Ramakant chose the charity as its work caring for abandoned, abused and unwanted pets is close to the hearts of everyone at Quantum Science.
The runners hope to raise £750 for Warrington Animal Welfare and are already well underway with their training for race day.
Dr Cong-Duan Vo, Chief Technology Officer at Quantum Science and part of the team taking part in the race, said: “At Quantum Science, we’re committed to giving back to our community, and there is no better way to do this than by raising money for a local charity. Warrington Animal Welfare does outstanding work caring for animals, but unfortunately, shelters like this one are still in high demand.
“As a small local charity reliant on donations and fundraising, Warrington Animal Welfare needs all the support we can give and everyone at Quantum Science is dedicated to helping however we can. I’m incredibly proud of the team for all their hard work preparing for this race, and we’re all excited for the big day.”
