Dr Hao Pang, CEO and Founder of Quantum Science Ltd., has received the 2025 Business of Science Leadership Award for the Private Sector (SME). The award was presented on Wednesday 14 May in Liverpool, ahead of the 2025 Business of Science Leadership Conference.
Dr Pang was recognised for his work in developing and commercialising INFIQ® infrared quantum dot (QD) technology. This technology enables short-wave infrared (SWIR) imaging for applications in biomedical imaging, industrial machine vision, defence, security, and consumer electronics. Under his leadership, Quantum Science has grown significantly and established itself as a leader in SWIR nanomaterials.
INFIQ® technology offers high-performance, cost-effective SWIR imaging suitable for mass-market use, enabling devices to capture data invisible to other sensing methods. Under Dr Pang’s leadership, this laboratory innovation has transformed into a scalable, market-ready solution.
Dr Pang said: “I’m truly honoured to receive the Business of Science Leadership Award for the Private Sector (SME). It’s a privilege to be recognised among such an esteemed group of leaders driving the commercialisation of science globally. This award reflects the dedication of our team in making infrared sensing technology a transformative force across industries.”
