Quantum Science, a leading innovator in infrared colloidal quantum dot (CQD) technology, has been awarded the highest possible result for a Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) with the University of Glasgow.

The joint project focused on accelerating advanced materials development was graded ‘Outstanding’ by Innovate UK’s assessment panel, recognising the exceptional technical innovation and commercial impact involved.

The collaboration saw researchers from the University of Glasgow work alongside the Quantum Science team to embed expertise in semiconductor device fabrication, packaging, and reliability testing. This has enabled Quantum Science to further scale production of its advanced INFIQ® quantum dot inks and materials.

Assessors commended the partnership’s success in strengthening the UK’s leadership in next-generation infrared sensing technologies and accelerating these materials into widespread use.

Dr Hao Pang, CEO & Founder of Quantum Science, said: “Achieving this ‘Outstanding’ rating is major milestone for the business and we’re immensely proud of what we’ve achieved alongside the University of Glasgow. Through this partnership we have made major breakthroughs in CQD material performance and manufacturing processes, enabling us to better serve the rapidly growing global demand for infrared sensitive QD inks and materials.

“The recognition given to us by the Innovate UK panel underscores the quality of work by everyone involved and reflects our shared commitment to driving infrared sensing technology forward. A huge thank you to everyone who made this possible – our KTP Associate and the University of Glasgow academic team, our Innovate UK Monitoring Officer for their guidance and support, and the funders whose investment made this achievement possible. I’d also like to thank our internal technical and commercial teams whose dedication ensured the project’s success and has strengthened our position as a global leader in infrared optoelectronics.”
