Quantum Science, a leading innovator in short-wave infrared (SWIR) quantum dot technology, is proud to announce that it has won a 2025 IOP Business Start-Up Award.
The award recognises the company’s innovative application of physics in the form of market-leading INFIQ® Infrared Quantum Dots (QDs), which enable imaging and sensing beyond the visible spectrum at a fraction of the cost of conventional approaches.
By replacing expensive and supply-constrained materials with scalable, tuneable QDs spanning visible to SWIR wavelengths, this technology advances performance in applications ranging from AI-driven machine vision to medical diagnostics, automotive, security, and industrial automation.
Dr Hao Pang, CEO & Founder of Quantum Science will now attend the IOP Business Awards Parliamentary Reception at the Palace of Westminster alongside other winners to exhibit INFIQ® technology.
Dr Pang said: “Being awarded the IOP Business Start-Up Award is a tremendous honour for our team and a powerful endorsement of the science behind our INFIQ® infrared QD technology. We set out to make advanced infrared imaging accessible at scale, and this recognition underscored how far the technology had come and how transformative it will be for the next generation of sensing and imaging technologies.
“I would also like to extend warm congratulations to all the fellow winners. Their breakthrough innovations reflect the exciting breadth of physics-driven businesses making a real-world impact, and the awards celebrations were a wonderful opportunity to connect with such visionary entrepreneurs.”
